18 AAC 72.611 - Alternative wastewater systems not requiring plan approval

(a) An alternative onsite wastewater system may be installed or modified without prior department approval if the system
(1) is one that
(A) serves a private residence, multi-family
dwelling, commercial facility, or combination of those, with a total on
lot-design flow of 1,500 gallons per day or less; or
(B) consists of holding tanks only and serves
a temporary or mobile camp associated with mining or oil and gas development;
and
(2) meets all
separation distance requirements under
18 AAC 72.620;
(3) meets all construction requirements under
18 AAC 72.630;
(4) is installed according to the design and
specification of a registered engineer; and
(5) the registered engineer, or a person
under the responsible charge of the registered engineer, supervises
construction as necessary to
(A) ensure that
the system was constructed in compliance with the design; and
(B) prepare the record documents as required
under 18 AAC
72.650(c).
(b) An alternative wastewater system that does not meet the requirements of (a)(1)(A) or (B) of this section or that is connected to a source of nondomestic wastewater must have prior department approval in accordance with 18 AAC 72.200 - 18 AAC 72.290 and 18 AAC 72.615.
