13 AAC 04.015 - Visibility distance and mounted height of lights

(a) When a section of this chapter provides that the distance from which lights and reflectors must render objects visible or be visible, the requirement applies during the times provided in sec. 10 of this chapter for a vehicle without load when upon a straight, level, unlighted highway under normal atmospheric conditions, unless a different time or condition is expressly stated. Lights must be maintained in good working order and kept clear of any obstruction which may reduce visibility, except as provided otherwise in this chapter.

(b) Repealed 6/28/79.

(c) When a provision of this chapter addresses the mounted height of lights or reflectors, the measurement specified is from the center of the light or reflector to the level ground upon which the vehicle stands when the vehicle is without a load.

(d) Lights required under this chapter must be maintained in good working order, securely mounted to prevent misdirection of light beams, and kept clear of any obstruction which might reduce visibility, except as provided otherwise in this chapter.
