Section 800-1-3-.02 - Disclosure Of Confidential Information

(1) No Board member or other officer or employee, whether paid or unpaid shall disclose any confidential and/or personal information.
(2) The Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama has at its disposal certain information that can be of tremendous use to federal, state and local agencies of government. The Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama shall cooperate with federal, state and local agencies in whatever manner possible insofar as the law allows. Providing information to various agencies is not the primary responsibility of the Retirement System; however, before any information is released, a written request stating the need for such information and the use to which it will be put shall be filed with the secretary-treasurer and an affidavit stating that the information will not be released to any other individual or agency nor will it be used for any purpose other than the one stated. Records of the information released, date and to what agency should be kept on file by the secretary-treasurer.
