Except as provided in § 34-39-5, any individual desiring a limited permit to practice as an Occupational Therapist or an Occupational Therapy Assistant shall obtain a limited permit prior to practicing Occupational Therapy. Any person practicing occupational therapy or engaging in occupational therapy treatment without a valid limited permit who does not qualify for an exemption under § 34-39-5, shall be subject to the penalties prescribed in § 34-39-15.
