Section 480-3-3-.42 - Checking In And Out Of Mine

The owner, operator, or superintendent of each mine shall have a check in and check out system in order that all employees, or other persons not regularly employed in the mine, may check in and out upon entering or leaving the mine, and all persons shall be required to check in and out of the mine at all times. The check-board or other record shall show the location of all men employed in the mine, as far as practicable. The mine superintendent, foreman or some competent person, designated by the mine superintendent or mine foreman shall inspect the check-board or other record at the end of each shift and make sure that all employees are safely out of the mine before leaving the mine.
