Section 360-X-15-.02 - Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade Member

(1) Requirements
(a) Candidate
1. The candidate must be certified as an
Incipient Industrial or Facility Fire Brigade Member.
2. The candidate must be certified to the
Hazardous Materials/WMD Operations level.
3. A candidate must be physically able to
perform the tasks associated with fire brigade training.
4. The minimum age requirement is 18
years.
5. The certification expires
one (1) year from the date the person leaves the fire brigade.
(b) Instructor
1. This course must be taught by an
instructor who has been certified by the Commission as a Fire
Instructor.
(c) Facility
1. This course will be taught at a facility
which is in possession of minimum resources required for at least temporary
approval.
(d)
Examination
1. There will be an examination
for state certification provided by the Alabama Fire College and Personnel
Standards Commission.
2. An overall
score of 70% is required for the successful completion of this
examination.
3. Re-test may be
taken after 30 days and within 12 months of course completion.
4. All certification testing, to include
re-testing, must be completed within 12 months of the course completion
date.
(2) Administration
(a) Scope
1. This standard identifies the professional
levels of competence required of the Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade
Member.
(b) Purpose
1. The purpose of this standard is to
identify the minimum requirements of professional competence required for
service as an Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade Member.
2. It is not the intent of this standard to
restrict any jurisdiction from exceeding these minimum requirements.
(c) General
1. Each of the performance objectives for the
Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade Member shall be performed swiftly,
safely and with competence. Each objective shall be met in its
entirety.
2. The brigade member
shall meet all of the objectives for Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade
Member as outlined in the Teaching Outline before being certified at that
level.
3. It is not required for
the objectives to be mastered in the order they appear. The Alabama Fire
College and Personnel Standards Commission shall establish the instructional
priority and the training program content to prepare individuals to meet the
performance objectives of this standard.
(3) Objectives
(a) The objectives of this standard are based
on the ability of the Advanced Exterior Facility Fire Brigade Member to
demonstrate knowledge and skills as outlined in the Alabama Fire College and
Personnel Standards Commission Teaching Outline for Advanced Exterior Facility
Fire Brigade Member, current edition.
