Measured Building Energy Performance Data Taxonomy
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) seeks comments and information related to a measured building energy performance data taxonomy. DOE has created this measured building energy performance data taxonomy as part of its DOE Buildings Performance Database project. This information is focused on data related to the energy performance of buildings and is not intended to be a general taxonomy for other building information and applications (i.e., non-energy applications such as structural analysis, space planning, et cetera).
Publication of the Petition for Waiver and Notice of Granting the Application for Interim Waiver of Sub-Zero From the Department of Energy Residential Refrigerator and Refrigerator-Freezer Test Procedure
This notice announces receipt of and publishes the Sub-Zero, Inc. (Sub-Zero) petition for waiver (hereafter, ``petition'') from specified portions of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure for determining the energy consumption of electric refrigerators and refrigerator-freezers. The waiver request pertains to the basic models set forth in Sub-Zero's petition that incorporate dual compressors. In its petition, Sub-Zero provides an alternate test procedure that resolves difficulties in testing dual compressor systems according to the DOE test procedure. DOE solicits comments, data, and information concerning Sub-Zero's petition and the suggested alternate test procedure. DOE also publishes notice of the grant of an interim waiver to Sub-Zero.
Notice of Petition for Waiver of LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. From the Department of Energy Clothes Washer Test Procedure, and Grant of Interim Waiver
This notice announces receipt of and publishes the LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. (LG) petition for waiver and application for interim waiver (hereafter, ``petition'') from specified portions of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure for determining the energy consumption of clothes washers. Today's notice also grants an interim waiver of the clothes washer test procedure. Through this notice, DOE also solicits comments with respect to the LG petition.
Decision and Order Granting a Waiver to Samsung From the Department of Energy Residential Clothes Washer Test Procedure
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) gives notice of the decision and order (Case No. CW-020) that grants to Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (Samsung) a waiver from the DOE clothes washer test procedure for determining the energy consumption of clothes washers for the basic models set forth in its petition for waiver. Under today's decision and order, Samsung shall be required to test and rate these clothes washers using an alternate test procedure that takes the large capacities into account when measuring energy consumption.
Publication of the Petition for Waiver From Empire Comfort Systems From the Department of Energy Vented Home Heating Equipment Test Procedure
This notice announces receipt of and publishes the Empire Comfort Systems Inc. (Empire) petition for waiver (hereafter, ``petition'') from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedure for determining the energy consumption of vented home heating equipment. The waiver request pertains to certain basic models of Empire's condensing type direct heaters. In its petition, Empire provides an alternate test procedure, ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 103- 1993,``Method of Testing for AFUE of Residential Central Furnaces and Boilers.'' The alternate procedure omits those sections of ANSI/ASHRAE 103-1993 that do not apply to condensing type direct heaters. DOE solicits comments, data, and information concerning Empire's petition and the suggested alternate test procedure.
