49th Meeting of the National Museum and Library Services Board
Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, notice is hereby given that the National Museum and Library Services Board will meet to advise the Director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) with respect to duties, powers, and authority of IMLS relating to museum, library, and information services, as well as coordination of activities for the improvement of these services.
Notice of Proposed Information Collection Requests: Studies To Support IMLS's Learning Agendas for Libraries and Museums
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the general public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act. This pre-clearance consultation program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. The purpose of this Notice is to solicit comments about the proposed data collection for Studies to Support IMLS's Learning Agendas for Libraries and Museums. Notice of Proposed Information Collection Requests: Improving Customer Experience (OMB Circular A-11, Section 280 Implementation)
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, is announcing an opportunity for public comment on the renewal of a proposed collection of information by the Agency. Under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), Federal Agencies are required to publish notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information, and to allow 60 days for public comment in response to the notice. This Notice solicits comments on a renewal of a collection to gather customer and stakeholder feedback via customer interviews, feedback surveys, and rapid feedback user testing of website experiences to improve customer experience with IMLS services of various kinds. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. The purpose of this Notice is to solicit comments concerning two grant programs targeting the needs of libraries and their communities nationwide: IMLS National Leadership Grants for Libraries and the IMLS Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program.
