EPA is proposing to approve a revision to the Louisiana State Implementation Plan (SIP) concerning a maintenance plan addressing the 1997 8-hour ozone standard for the parish of Pointe Coupee. On February 28, 2007, the State of Louisiana submitted a SIP revision containing a maintenance plan for the 1997 ozone standard for Pointe Coupee Parish. This plan ensures the continued attainment of the 1997 8-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) through the year 2014. On March 12, 2008, EPA issued a revised ozone standard. Today's action, however, is being taken to address requirements under the 1997 ozone standard. Requirements for this area under the 2008 standard will be addressed in future actions. This maintenance plan meets statutory and regulatory requirements, and is consistent with EPA's guidance.

Georgia: Final Authorization of State Hazardous Waste Management Program Revisions
Document Number: 2013-10408
Type: Rule
Date: 2013-05-02
Agency: Environmental Protection Agency
Georgia has applied to EPA for final authorization of changes to its hazardous waste program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). EPA has determined that these changes satisfy all requirements needed to qualify for final authorization, and is authorizing the State's changes through this immediate final rule. In the ``Proposed Rules'' section of today's Federal Register, EPA is also publishing a separate notice that serves as the proposal to authorize these changes. EPA believes this action is not controversial and does not expect comments that oppose it. Unless EPA receives written comments that oppose this authorization during the comment period, the decision to authorize Georgia's changes to its hazardous waste program will take effect. If EPA receives comments that oppose this action, EPA will publish a notice in the Federal Register withdrawing today's immediate final rule before it takes effect, and the separate notice published in today's ``Proposed Rules'' section of this Federal Register will serve as the proposal to authorize the changes.
Georgia: Final Authorization of State Hazardous Waste Management Program Revisions
Document Number: 2013-10406
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2013-05-02
Agency: Environmental Protection Agency
Georgia has applied to EPA for final authorization of changes to its hazardous waste program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). With this proposed rule, EPA is proposing to grant final authorization to Georgia for these changes. Along with this proposed rule, EPA is publishing an immediate final rule in the ``Rules and Regulations'' section of today's Federal Register pursuant to which EPA is authorizing these changes. EPA did not issue a proposed rule before today because EPA believes this action is not controversial and does not expect comments that oppose it. EPA has explained the reasons for this authorization in the immediate final rule. Unless EPA receives written comments that oppose this authorization during the comment period, the immediate final rule in today's Federal Register will become effective on the date it establishes, and EPA will not take further action on this proposal. If EPA receives comments that oppose this action, EPA will withdraw the immediate final rule and it will not take effect. EPA will then respond to public comments in a later final rule based on this proposed rule. You may not have another opportunity to comment on these State program changes. If you want to comment on this action, you must do so at this time.
