Labor Certification Process for the Temporary Employment of Aliens in Agriculture in the United States: 2015 Allowable Charges for Agricultural Workers' Meals and Travel Subsistence Reimbursement, Including Lodging
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) of the Department of Labor (Department) is issuing this Notice to announce (1) the allowable charges for 2015 that employers seeking H-2A workers may charge their workers when the employer provides three meals a day, and (2) the maximum travel subsistence meal reimbursement that a worker with receipts may claim in 2015. The Notice also includes a reminder regarding employers' obligations with respect to overnight lodging costs as part of required subsistence.
Public Listening Session
In preparation for launching the Online Skills Academy described in the Administration's ``Ready to Work: Job-Driving Training and American Opportunity'' report, the Department of Labor (Department), Employment and Training Administration is hosting a virtual listening session to solicit information and public input concerning the development of an Online Skills Academy. This listening session will be hosted in partnership with the Department of Education. The listening session will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to provide their comments and suggestions and engage in a national dialogue regarding the implementation of this priority funding. Notice of Availability of Funds and Funding Opportunity Announcement for the Linking to Employment Activities Pre-release Specialized American Job Centers (AJCs)
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor, announces the availability of approximately $5 million in grant funds authorized by Section 171, Pilot and Demonstration Projects, of the Workforce Investment Act and Section 212 of the Second Chance Act of 2007 for Linking to Employment Activities Pre-release Specialized American Job Centers (AJCs) grants. The purpose of this program is to provide locally incarcerated offenders with employability skills by providing them workforce services prior to release from local incarceration and linking them to a continuum of employment, training, education, and support services offered through their community-based AJCs post-release, as well as building connections to local employers that will enable transitioning offenders to secure employment pre-release. The jail-based specialized AJCs will enable transitioning offenders to prepare for employment prior to release and continue with individual development and service plans in the community once released. The aim of these centers is to improve the workforce outcomes for transitioning offenders. These jail-based specialized AJCs will build upon the successful and effective strategies that currently exist in similar correctional facility-based one-stop centers across the country. Workforce Investment Act; Native American Employment and Training Council
Pursuant to Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) (Pub. L. 92-463), as amended, and Section 166 (h)(4) of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) [29 U.S.C. 2911(h)(4)], notice is hereby given of the next meeting of the Native American Employment and Training Council (Council), as constituted under WIA.
Notice of Intent To Renew the Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (ACA) Charter
The Secretary of Labor has determined that the renewal of the Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship is necessary and in the public interest. The Department of Labor intends to renew the ACA Charter with revisions. The revisions are not intended to change the purpose or the Committee's original intent. The revisions are a routine updating of the Charter to ensure closer alignment with the Department's current apprenticeship expansion goals.
