On October 14, 2004, NHTSA published a notice requesting comments on possible alternatives to revise the agency's test procedures for frontal impact New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) testing. This notice summarizes the comments received and provides the agency's decision on how we will proceed. The agency has decided to maintain the full-frontal barrier test procedure, the test speed of 35 mph (56 km/h), the current test dummies, and the current rating system until the further research and analysis are completed.
