Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for Expansion of Light Rail Transit Service From Glassboro, NJ to Camden, NJ
FTA, in coordination with the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA)/Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to advise the public that it proposes to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the potential environmental impacts associated with the construction and operation of the Glassboro-Camden Line (GCL) light rail system, as well as assess and document a No-Action Alternative and a Transportation System Management (TSM) Alternative. The proposed GCL system is approximately 18 miles long and would operate between the Borough of Glassboro in Gloucester County and the City of Camden in Camden County along, and primarily within, the existing Conrail railroad right-of-way. Light Rail technology along this alignment was selected as the Recommended Alternative based on a two-year Alternatives Analysis completed by DRPA/PATCO in 2009.
Over-the-Road Bus Accessibility Program Grants: Corrections
This notice corrects dollar thresholds and revenue classifications for large and small intercity fixed-route Class I carriers, and labor protection information, among other things, published in the January 15, 2010 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Notice titled ``Over-the-Road Bus Accessibility Program Grants,'' extends the application deadline, and allows applicants to submit a single application for Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 and FY 2010 funding.
Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the South Bay Metro Green Line Extension Transit Corridor, Southwestern Portion of Los Angeles County, CA
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) intend to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for proposed transit improvements in the South Bay Metro Green Line Extension Transit Corridor. LACMTA operates the Metro transit system in Los Angeles County. The proposed project would improve mobility in southwestern Los Angeles County by introducing high-frequency transit service options; enhance the regional transit network by interconnecting existing and planned rapid transit lines such as the proposed Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor and the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) planned People Mover; provide an alternative mode of transportation for commuters who currently use the congested I-405 corridor; improve transit accessibility for residents and employees who live and/or work along the corridor; and encourage a mode shift to transit, reducing air pollution and Greenhouse Gas emissions.
FY 2010 Discretionary Sustainability Funding Opportunity; Transit Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction (TIGGER) Program and Clean Fuels Grant Program, Augmented With Discretionary Bus and Bus Facilities Program
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of discretionary funds in Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 for the Transit Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction (TIGGER) program funds and FY 2009 and 2010 Clean Fuels Grant program funds, augmented with FY 2010 Section 5309 Bus and Bus Facilities program funds. These discretionary program funds will be distributed in accordance with the mission of each program and in support of the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) environmental sustainability efforts.
