Cancellation of Environmental Impact Statement; Galveston County, TX
In Vol. 7, No. 28/Friday, February 10, 2006/Notices, FHWA issued a Notice of Intent to advise the public that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) would be prepared for a proposed SH Highway (SH 87) bridge connecting Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County, Texas. The project is now cancelled; therefore, no further project activities will occur.
Agency Information Collection Activities: Request for Comments for New Information Collection
The FHWA has forwarded the information collection request described in this notice to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for approval of a new information collection. We published a Federal Register Notice with a 60-day public comment period on this information collection on September 27, 2007. We are required to publish this notice in the Federal Register by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

Environmental Impact Statement; Grays Harbor County, WA
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is issuing this notice to advise the public, affected Indian tribes and agencies that an environmental impact statement (EIS) will be prepared for the proposed development of a site to build pontoons that would be used to restore the function of the existing SR 520 Evergreen Point Bridge in case of catastrophic failure. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a co-lead agency on the EIS. FHWA and WSDOT will prepare the EIS in accordance with the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), and with Washington's State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).
National Standards for Traffic Control Devices; the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways; Revision
The MUTCD (also referred to as ``the Manual'') is incorporated by our regulations, approved by the Federal Highway Administration, and recognized as the national standard for traffic control devices used on all public roads. The purpose of this notice of proposed amendments is to revise standards, guidance, options, and supporting information relating to the traffic control devices in all parts of the MUTCD. The proposed changes are intended to expedite traffic, promote uniformity, improve safety, and incorporate technology advances in traffic control device application. These proposed changes are being designated as the next edition of the MUTCD.
