Airworthiness Directives; AeroSpace Technologies of Australia Pty Ltd Models N22B, N22S, and N24A Airplanes
We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above that would supersede an existing AD. This proposed AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Airworthiness Directives; Eurocopter France Model AS350B, BA, B1, B2, B3, C, D, D1, AS355E, F, F1, F2, and N Helicopters
We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the specified Eurocopter France (Eurocopter) model helicopters. This proposed AD results from a mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) AD issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is the Technical Agent for the Member States of the European Community. The AD MCAI states ``EASA issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2006-0251 and its revisions following a case of total failure and a case of a crack discovered on the support shaft of the sliding door rear roller. Metallurgical and metallographic analyses revealed a nonconformity concerning the heat treatment of the material. Since then, other cases of cracks and failures of the roller support shaft rear attach fitting had been reported. This condition, if not corrected, could lead to the loss of the sliding door in flight.''
Airworthiness Directives; MD Helicopters, Inc. Model MD-900 Helicopters
This document proposes superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for MD Helicopters, Inc. (MDHI) Model MD-900 helicopters. That AD currently requires applying serial numbers to certain parts, increasing the life limit for various parts, maintaining a previously established life limit for a certain vertical stabilizer control system (VSCS) bellcrank assembly and bellcrank arm, and correcting the part number for the VSCS bellcrank arm. This proposal would require the same actions, except it would reduce the life limit of the swashplate spherical slider bearing (slider bearing). It would further correct what was described as a ``bellcrank arm'' life limit in the current AD and correctly describe it as another ``bellcrank assembly'' life limit. This proposal is prompted by two reports of cracks in the slider bearing that occurred well before the previously increased retirement life of 2,030 hours time-in-service (TIS) was reached. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to establish appropriate life limits for various parts, and to prevent fatigue failure of those parts and subsequent loss of control of the helicopter.
Special Conditions: Alenia Model C-27J Airplane; Liquid Oxygen System
These special conditions are issued for the Alenia Model C-27J airplane. This airplane will have novel or unusual design features when compared to the state of technology described in the airworthiness standards for transport-category airplanes. These design features include a liquid-oxygen (LOX) system. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for oxygen systems that use liquid oxygen. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.

Modification of Restricted Areas and Other Special Use Airspace; Fallon, NV
This action amends the time of designation and using agency of nine restricted areas located in the vicinity of the Fallon Naval Air Station (NAS), Fallon, NV, as part of a Department of the Navy initiative to standardize the operating hours throughout the Fallon Airspace Complex. The times of use are being expanded to meet the critical need of the Navy for additional nighttime training, and the using agency changes are administrative in accordance with a Navy realignment of functions. Additionally, this action modifies the times of use of the four military operation areas (MOAs) in the Fallon Airspace Complex. Unlike restricted areas, which are designated under 14 CFR part 73, MOAs are not rulemaking airspace actions. The MOA changes described here were published in the National Flight Data Digest (NFDD). The Navy requested these airspace changes to provide additional night training time to meet combat readiness requirements currently being carried out in accordance with 14 CFR 99.7.

Airworthiness Directives; Airbus Model A330-200 and -300, and Model A340-300 Series Airplanes
We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This proposed AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Airworthiness Directives; Boeing Model 757 Airplanes
We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Boeing Model 757 airplanes. This proposed AD would require replacing the power control relays for the fuel boost pumps and override pumps with new relays having a ground fault interrupt (GFI) feature. This proposed AD results from fuel system reviews conducted by the manufacturer. We are proposing this AD to prevent damage to the fuel pumps caused by electrical arcing that could introduce an ignition source in the fuel tank, which, in combination with flammable fuel vapors, could result in a fuel tank explosion and consequent loss of the airplane.
Airworthiness Directives; Boeing Model 737-600, -700, -700C, -800, and -900 Series Airplanes
We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Boeing Model 737-600, -700, -700C, -800, and -900 series airplanes. This proposed AD would require inspections for scribe lines in the fuselage skin at lap joints, the splice strap at certain butt joints, the skin or doubler at certain approved repair doublers, and the skin at decal locations; and related investigative and corrective actions if necessary. This proposed AD results from reports of scribe line damage found adjacent to the skin lap joints, decals, and wing-to- body fairings. We are proposing this AD to detect and correct scribe lines, which can develop into fatigue cracks in the skin. Undetected fatigue cracks can grow and cause sudden decompression of the airplane.
Airworthiness Directives; Boeing Model 757 Airplanes
We are revising an earlier proposed airworthiness directive (AD) for all Boeing Model 757-200, -200PF, -200CB, and -300 series airplanes. The original NPRM would have required an inspection of the two spring arms in the spin brake assemblies in the nose wheel well to determine if the spring arms are made of aluminum or composite material, and repetitive related investigative/corrective actions if necessary. The original NPRM resulted from reports of cracked and broken aluminum springs. This action revises the original NPRM to include a parts installation paragraph and to provide options for terminating the repetitive actions. We are proposing this supplemental NPRM to detect and correct cracked or broken springs. A cracked or broken spring could separate from the airplane and result in potential hazard to persons or property on the ground, or ingestion into the engine with engine damage and potential shutdown, or damage to the airplane.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as: Reports have been received of finding corrosion at the Frame 29 wing-to-fuselage attachment lug plate joint. This condition, if not detected and corrected, could result in a degradation of the structural integrity of Frame 29 and the wing-to-fuselage attachment.
Airworthiness Directives; Rolls-Royce plc RB211 Trent 800 Series Turbofan Engines
The FAA is superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for Rolls-Royce plc RB211 Trent 875-17, Trent 877-17, Trent 884- 17, Trent 892-17, Trent 892B-17, and Trent 895-17 turbofan engines with high-pressure (HP) compressor rotor rear stage 5 and 6 discs and cone shafts, part numbers (P/Ns) FK25230 and FK27899 installed. That AD currently requires removal from service of these HP compressor rotor rear stage 5 and 6 discs and cone shafts before reaching newly reduced life limits. This AD requires removing these parts at new reduced cycle limits. This AD results from Rolls-Royce plc reducing the lives of these parts and changing the life calculating method to use ``Standard Duty Cycles'' with ``Multiple Flight Profile Monitoring'' and ``Flight Cycles'' with ``Heavy Flight Profile Monitoring''. We are issuing this AD to prevent stage 5 and 6 disc crack initiation and propagation that might lead to uncontained disc failure and damage to the airplane.
