Notice of Intent to Repatriate Cultural Items: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Hiawatha National Forest, Gladstone, MI
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service, Hiawatha National Forest, in consultation with the appropriate Indian tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations, has determined that the cultural items listed in this notice meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects. Lineal descendants or representatives of any Indian tribe or Native Hawaiian organization not identified in this notice that wish to claim these cultural items should submit a written request to the Hiawatha National Forest. If no additional claimants come forward, transfer of control of the cultural items to the lineal descendants, Indian tribes, or Native Hawaiian organizations stated in this notice may proceed.

The American Museum of Natural History has revised a Notice of Inventory Completion that was published in the Federal Register on February 4, 2015. This notice revises the listing of Indian tribes who are recognized as aboriginal to the area from which Native American human remains were removed.

Grand Valley State University has corrected an inventory of human remains published in a Notice of Inventory Completion in the Federal Register on February 2, 2015. This notice corrects the minimum number of individuals listed in that notice. Lineal descendants or representatives of any Indian tribe or Native Hawaiian organization not identified in this notice that wish to request transfer of control of these human remains should submit a written request to Grand Valley State University. If no additional requestors come forward, transfer of control of the human remains to the lineal descendants, Indian tribes, or Native Hawaiian organizations stated in this notice may proceed.

This notice corrects the number of associated funerary objects.
