OSHA is informing the public of a collection of information requirement contained in the Procedures for the Handling of Retaliation Complaints Under the National Transit Systems Security Act and the Federal Railroad Safety Act interim final rule, published August 31, 2010. This clarification notice informs the public about the means by which to comment on this collection of information requirement prior to OSHA's submission of an information collection request (ICR) extension to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

This notice announces the application of TUV Rheinland PTL, LLC, for recognition as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, and presents the Agency's preliminary finding to grant this recognition.

OSHA invites interested parties to participate in an open, informal public meeting to discuss proposals in preparation for the 20th session of the United Nations Subcommittee of Experts on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (UNSCEGHS). The UNSCEGHS meeting will be held December 7-9, 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland. OSHA, along with the U.S. Interagency GHS Coordinating Group, plans to consider the comments and information gathered at this public meeting when developing the U.S Government positions for the UNSCEGHS meeting.

On August 9, 2010, OSHA published a final rule revising the Cranes and Derricks Standard and related sections of the Construction Standard to update and specify industry work practices necessary to protect employees during the use of cranes and derricks in construction. That final standard also addressed advances in the designs of cranes and derricks, related hazards, and the qualifications of employees needed to operate them safely. Those requirements contained information collection requirements for which approval was needed from the Office of Management and Budget. This document announces that OMB has approved those collection of information requirements and makes the appropriate regulatory change to reflect that approval. The OMB approval number is 1218-0261.
