Abbreviated Bitrex® Qualitative Fit-Testing Protocol
After thoroughly reviewing the comments and other information available in the record for the proposed rulemaking, OSHA decided that the abbreviated Bitrex[supreg] qualitative fit test is not sufficiently accurate to include among the qualitative fits tests listed in Part II of Appendix A of its Respiratory Protection Standard. Therefore, OSHA is withdrawing the proposed rule without prejudice, and is inviting resubmission of the proposed fit test after conducting further research to improve the accuracy of the protocol.
The Hexavalent Chromium Standard; Extension of the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Approval of Information Collection (Paperwork) Requirements
OSHA solicits comments concerning its proposal to extend OMB approval of the information collection requirements contained in the Hexavalent Chromium (VI) (29 CFR 1910.1026) Standard, and on a potential change to burden hour and cost estimates to the Standard's employee exposure notification requirement in response to a court remand.

Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, FY 2009
The U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awards funds to nonprofit organizations to provide training and educational programs for employers and workers about safety and health topics selected by OSHA. Nonprofit organizations, including qualifying labor unions and community-based and faith-based organizations that are not an agency of a State or local government are eligible to apply. Additionally, State or local government-supported institutions of higher education are eligible to apply in accordance with 29 CFR part 95. This notice announces grant availability for Susan Harwood Training Program grants.
