Department of Energy April 2017 – Federal Register Recent Federal Regulation Documents

The Department of Energy, pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, intends to renew, for three years, an information collection request pertaining to the Department's administration of access provisions under the Privacy Act of 1974, with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Comments are invited on: (a) Whether the extended collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of information, including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology; and (e) the agency's proposal to change the name of the information collection from the current ``Records and Administration'' to ``Privacy Act Administration,'' which reflects a change of the owner of this information collection from the agency's Records Management Officer to the agency's Chief Privacy Officer. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission or FERC) previously issued a 60-day Notice in the Federal Register requesting public comments on FERC-603 (Critical Energy/Electric Infrastructure Information (CEII) Request). The Commission received no comments. In compliance with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Commission is submitting the FERC-603 to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review of the information collection requirements. Any interested person may file comments directly with OMB and should address a copy of those comments to the Commission as explained below.

Southeastern Power Administration (Southeastern) proposes to revise existing schedules of rates and charges applicable to the sale of power from the Georgia-Alabama-South Carolina System of Projects effective for a 5-year period, October 1, 2017, through September 30, 2022. Additionally, opportunities will be available for interested persons to review the present rates and the proposed rates and supporting studies, to participate in a public forum and to submit written comments. Southeastern will evaluate all comments received in this process.

In compliance with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission or FERC) is soliciting public comment on a revision to the information collection, FERC-725E (Mandatory Reliability Standards for the Western Electric Coordinating Council) which will be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for a review of the information collection requirements.

DTE Energy Trading, Inc. (Applicant or DTE Energy Trading) has applied to renew its authority to transmit electric energy from the United States to Canada pursuant to section 202(e) of the Federal Power Act.
