The Secretary extends to April 30, 2014, the deadline date for the submission of applications for fiscal year (FY) 2015 awards under the Impact Aid Section 8002 Grant Program. Impact Aid regulations specify that the annual application deadline is January 31. However, the Secretary extends this deadline because of application changes necessitated by amendments in the FY 2013 National Defense Appropriation Act, and the time needed to implement subsequent technology upgrades to the application package.

The Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services proposes a priority for the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) Program administered by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Specifically, this notice proposes a priority for an RRTC on Family Support. We take this action to focus research attention on an area of national need. We intend the priority to contribute to improved outcomes in this area for individuals with disabilities and family members who provide assistance to them.
