Proposed Priorities, Requirement, and Definitions-Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) Program
The Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education proposes priorities, a requirement, and definitions under the IAL program. The Assistant Secretary may use the priorities, requirement, and definitions for competitions in fiscal year (FY) 2014 and later years. We take this action to ensure IAL projects will be supported, at a minimum, by evidence of strong theory, and to focus Federal financial assistance on projects that serve rural local educational agencies (LEAs).

National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI)
This notice sets forth the agenda for the June 18-19, 2014 meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI); and provides information to members of the public on submitting written comments and on requesting to make oral comments at the meeting. The notice of this meeting is required under Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and Section 114(d)(1)(B) of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965, as amended. Meeting Date and Location: The NACIQI meeting will be held on June 18-19, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at a location to be determined in the Washington DC area. The exact location will be published in the Federal Register and on the Department's Web site at https:// www2.ed.gov/about/bdscomm/list/naciqi.html#meetings by May 16, 2014. Meeting Agenda: In addition to its review of accrediting agencies and State approval agencies for Secretarial recognition, the meeting agenda will include presentations to further inform the Committee about current issues and discussions concerning accreditation and to engage the Committee in discussions regarding the Committee's 2012 recommendations and/or developing new policy recommendations to advise the Secretary in preparation for the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (HEA). This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda for the upcoming meeting of the National Assessment Governing Board (Board) and also describes the specific functions of the Board. Notice of this meeting is required under Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. This notice is issued to provide members of the general public with an opportunity to attend and/or provide comments.
