Fisheries of the Northeastern United States; Recreational Management Measures for the Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass Fisheries; Fishing Year 2009
NMFS proposes management measures for the 2009 summer flounder, scup, and black sea bass recreational fisheries. The implementing regulations for these fisheries require NMFS to publish recreational measures for the fishing year and to provide an opportunity for public comment. The intent of these measures is to prevent overfishing of the summer flounder, scup, and black sea bass resources.
Hydrographic Services Review Panel Meeting
The Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP) was established by the Secretary of Commerce to advise the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere on matters related to the responsibilities and authorities set forth in section 303 of the Hydrographic Services Improvement Act of 1998, its amendments, and such other appropriate matters that the Under Secretary refers to the Panel for review and advice.

Unified Synthesis Product Development Committee
A major activity of the Climate Change Science Program (CCSP) is the production of a series of 21 Synthesis and Assessment Products (SAPs) that are designed to inform and aid decision making by policy makers, resource managers, stakeholders, the media, and the general public on issues related to global climate change. The Unified Synthesis Product (USP) Development Committee (USPDC), established by a Decision Memorandum on February 29, 2008, is the Federal Advisory Committee charged with responsibility to develop a draft USP that will synthesize the information contained in the 21 SAPs in the context of other recent climate and global change scientific studies and formal assessments.
