National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announces that the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC or Committee) will meet via web conference on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 2 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The primary purpose of this meeting is to have invited guests brief the full Committee on topics of interest to the NAIAC's working groups. The briefings are from outside subject matter experts to the full Committee from areas such as industry, nonprofit organizations, the scientific community, the defense and law enforcement communities, and other appropriate organizations. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announces that the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee Law Enforcement Subcommittee (NAIAC LE or Subcommittee) will hold an open meeting via web conference on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Eastern Time. The primary purpose of this meeting is for the Subcommittee Members to report the working groups' findings, identify actionable recommendations, and discuss updates on goals and deliverables. Manufacturing USA Institute Competition: AI for Resilient Manufacturing
The Office of Advanced Manufacturing within the National Institute of Standards and Technology, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, intends to announce an open competition for a new Manufacturing USA institute. The expected competition will seek to establish a Manufacturing USA institute focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence to improve resilience of U.S. manufacturing. This NOI is provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations among industry, academia, Federal laboratories and state/local government.
Proposed Revision to Voluntary Product Standard (PS) 20-20 “American Softwood Lumber Standard”
This notice advises the public that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking comments for the proposed revision of Voluntary Product Standard (PS) 20-20, ``American Softwood Lumber Standard.'' This standard, prepared by the American Lumber Standard Committee, serves the procurement and regulatory needs of numerous Federal, State, and local government agencies by providing for uniform, industry-wide grade-marking and inspection requirements for softwood lumber. The implementation of the standard also allows for uniform labeling and auditing of treated wood and, through a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, labeling and auditing of wood packaging materials for international trade. As part of a five-year review process, NIST is seeking public comment and invites interested parties to review the revised standard and submit comments.

The Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) will meet Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time, and Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Eastern Time. All sessions will be open to the public.
