Notice of Proposed Change to the Natural Resources Conservation Service's National Handbook of Conservation Practices
It is the intention of the NRCS in Idaho to issue a revised conservation practice standards in its National Handbook of Conservation Practices. The revised standard is: Filter Strip (393).
The Secretary of Agriculture's Determination of the Primary Purpose of Pennsylvania's Upper Makefield Township Riparian Restoration and Preservation Grant Program
NRCS is providing public notice that the Secretary of Agriculture has determined the payments made under Pennsylvania's Upper Makefield Township Riparian Restoration and Preservation Grant Program are primarily for the purpose of protecting or restoring the environment. NRCS was assigned technical and administrative responsibility for reviewing the Upper Makefield Township Riparian Restoration and Preservation Grant Program and making appropriate recommendations for the Secretary's determination of primary purpose. This determination is in accordance with section 126 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended (26 U.S.C. 126), and permits recipients of cost-share payments to exclude from gross income to the extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Service.
Notice of Proposed Changes to the Natural Resources Conservation Service's National Handbook of Conservation Practices
Notice is hereby given of the intention of NRCS to issue a series of revised conservation practice standards in its National Handbook of Conservation Practices. These standards include: Residue Management, Seasonal (Code 344); Grassed Waterway (Code 412); Mulching (Code 484); Stripcropping (Code 585); Cross Wind Ridges (Code 588); Terrace (Code 600); Underground Outlet (Code 620); and Water and Sediment Control Basin (Code 638). NRCS State Conservationists who choose to adopt these practices for use within their States will incorporate them into Section IV of their respective electronic Field Office Technical Guide. These practices may be used in conservation systems that treat highly erodible land or on land determined to be a wetland.
