Notice of Proposed Information Collection Requests: Collection of Information To Assess the Current State of Library and Museum Infrastructure To Identify Infrastructure Needs
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act. This pre-clearance consultation program helps to ensure that requested data will be provided in the appropriate format; that respondents' reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized; that collection instruments are clearly understood and cover material to which respondents can be responsive; and, that the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed.
Meeting of Humanities Panel
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will hold two meetings of the Humanities Panel, a federal advisory committee, during January 2024. The purpose of the meetings is for panel review, discussion, evaluation, and recommendation of applications for financial assistance under the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965.

This pre-clearance consultation practice helps ensure that requested data can be provided in the agency's desired format; that respondents' reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized; that collection instruments are clearly understood and cover material to which respondents can be responsive; and, that the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. The purpose of this Notice is to solicit comments related to conducting pre-tests of quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments and their related data collection procedures to improve the quality and usability of information collection instruments. 30-Day Notice for the “Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery”
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has requested that the Office of Management and Budget renew its generic clearance for the collection of qualitative feedback on agency service delivery. This generic clearance fast-tracks the process for NEA to seek feedback from the public, through surveys and similar feedback instruments, regarding NEA services and programs. Humanities Panel Advisory Committee
Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act and its implementing regulations, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) gives notice that the Charter for the Humanities Panel advisory committee was renewed for an additional two-year period on November 17, 2023. The Chair of NEH determined that the renewal of the Humanities Panel is necessary and in the public interest in connection with the performance of duties imposed upon the Chair of NEH by the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965, as amended.
Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Panel Advisory Committee
Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act and its implementing regulations, the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities (the Council) gives notice that the Charter for the Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Panel advisory committee was renewed for an additional two-year period on November 17, 2023. The Council determined that renewing the advisory committee is in the public interest in connection with the duties imposed on the Council by the Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Act, as amended.
