Meeting of National Council on the Humanities
Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, notice is hereby given that the National Council on the Humanities will meet to advise the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) with respect to policies, programs and procedures for carrying out his functions; to review applications for financial assistance under the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities Act of 1965 and make recommendations thereon to the Chairman; and to consider gifts offered to NEH and make recommendations thereon to the Chairman.

Announcement of Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announces the Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers Data Challenge under Section 105 of the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 (Pub. L. 111-358). This challenge encourages the creation of web-based tools, data visualizations, and other creative uses of the information found in the Chronicling America historic newspaper database.
Proposed Collection; Comment Request
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a preclearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) [44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(A)]. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the NEA is soliciting comments concerning the proposed information collection on arts participation in the U.S. A copy of the current information collection request can be obtained by contacting the office listed below in the address section of this notice.
Meetings of Humanities Panel; Correction
The National Endowment for the Humanities published a document in the Federal Register of September 16, 2015, concerning notice of meetings of the Humanities Panel during the month of October, 2015. One meeting date has changed. All other information in the notice remains the same.
Meetings of Humanities Panel
The National Endowment for the Humanities will hold twenty-six meetings of the Humanities Panel, a federal advisory committee, during November, 2015. The purpose of the meetings is for panel review, discussion, evaluation, and recommendation of applications for financial assistance under the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities Act of 1965.
