The consent agreement in this matter settles alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair or deceptive acts or practices. The attached Analysis to Aid Public Comment describes both the allegations in the draft complaint and the terms of the consent orderembodied in the consent agreementthat would settle these allegations.

The FTC plans to conduct a study to examine consumer perception of environmental marketing claims. This is the second of two notices required under the Paperwork Reduction Act (``PRA'') in which the FTC seeks public comments on its proposed consumer research in connection with requesting Office of Management and Budget (``OMB'') review of, and clearance for, the collection of information discussed herein.
