Agency Information Collection Activities: Proposed Collection Renewal; Comment Request
The FDIC, as part of its obligations under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the request to renew the existing information collections described below (OMB Control No. 3064-0139, -0169, -0189, and -0202). The notice of the proposed renewal for these information collections was previously published in the Federal Register on September 14, 2022, allowing for a 60-day comment period.
Agency Information Collection Activities: Proposed Revision of Information Collection; FDIC National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households; Comment Request (3064-0215)
The FDIC, as part of its obligations under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the survey collection instrument for its eighth biennial survey of households, which has been renamed the FDIC National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households (Household Survey). This survey was previously named the Survey of Household Use of Banking and Financial Services and is assigned OMB Control No. 3064-0215. The 2023 Household Survey is scheduled to be conducted in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau as a supplement to its June 2023 Current Population Survey (CPS). The survey collects information on U.S. households' use of bank accounts, prepaid cards, nonbank online payment services and other nonbank financial transaction services, and bank and nonbank credit. The results of these biennial surveys will be published by the FDIC, and help inform policymakers, bankers, and researchers about bank account ownership and household use of the banking system and nonbank financial products and services to meet their financial needs.
Privacy Act of 1974; System of Records
In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the FDIC proposes to establish a new FDIC system of records titled, ``Mailing, Event, and other Contact Lists.'' This system of records notice describes FDIC's collection, maintenance, and use of contact information to support FDIC's mission.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) proposes to modify a current FDIC system of records titled FDIC-013, Insured Financial Institution Liquidation Records, by updating the name to FDIC-013, Financial Institution Resolution and Receivership Records to more closely reflect the records processed by this system of records; adding a new routine use to allow members of the public to locate and understand the status of their accounts; and revising the policies and practices for retention and disposal of records to describe the records retention schedules for the records included in this system of records. Additionally, this notice includes non-substantive changes to simplify the formatting and text of the previously published notice. We hereby publish this notice for comment on the proposed action.
