The Corporation for National and Community Service (hereinafter the ``Corporation''), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the general public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirement on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Corporation is soliciting comments concerning its proposed renewal of its Disaster Response Database (DRD). The DRD is a data collection tool that allows the Corporation to collect information from its programs and grantees on disaster response activities across the country. This tool serves as a central repository of information on Corporation disaster response activities for reporting to the public. The Corporation for National and Community Service is issuing this notice under Public Law 92-463 (Federal Advisory Committee Act) to advise the public that the January 19, 2006 meeting of the AmeriCorps NCCC Advisory Board has been cancelled and replaced with a February 8, 2006 meeting. The Board advises the Director of the NCCC concerning the administration of the program and assists in the development and administration of the Corps: Date and Time: Wednesday, February 8, 2006, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Place: Corporation for National and Community Service, 1201 New York Avenue, NW., 8th Floor, Room 8312, Washington, DC 20525. Status: Open. Matters To Be Considered: The Board will discuss a proposal that establishes two new committees of the Advisory Board, which should result in the Board being in a position to better support and advance the overall goals and objectives of the NCCC. These two committees will be concerned primarily with Board development and strategic initiatives, respectively. Accommodations: Upon request, meeting notices will be made available in alternative formats to accommodate visual and hearing impairments. Currently, the Corporation is soliciting comments on its proposed ``Application for the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll'' which will involve the collection of information from institutions of higher education concerning their community service- related activities. This information will provide the basis for a national honor roll and awards program intended to promote awareness of higher education community service efforts and to inspire expanded and more effective service efforts. In support of the Universities Rebuilding America Program (discussed below), this application and data collection include sections on the service activities of institutions of higher education, their students, faculty and staff, in response to the significant devastation caused by this last year's Atlantic and Gulf hurricanes. Currently, the Corporation is soliciting comments on the proposed baseline survey for the National Evaluation of Youth Corps. This survey will be completed by individuals applying for participation in a nationally representative sample of Youth Corps programs. Youth Corps are programs that provide young adults, particularly those that are educationally and/or economically disadvantaged, with a combination of work experience, education and community service. Many of the Youth Corps programs receive all or part of their funding from the Corporation.
