The Corporation for National and Community Service will hold a meeting to discuss the development of its proposed communications and marketing campaign concepts targeted at baby boomers. The mission of the Corporation for National and Community Service is to provide opportunities for Americans to engage in service that addresses our nation's educational, public safety, environmental and other human needs. As part of this mission, the Corporation is developing a marketing campaign targeted at baby boomers, as this audience moves towards retirement and is faced with an increase in free time. The intent of the marketing campaign will be to recruit baby boomers to various Corporation programs, as well as to volunteer service in general. In holding meetings to discuss the Corporation's draft campaign concepts for baby boomers, we are interested in receiving comments from individuals born between the years of 1946 and 1964.

The Corporation for National and Community Service (hereinafter the ``Corporation''), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a pre-clearance consultation program to provide the general public and federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) (44 U.S.C. Sec. 3506(c)(2)(A)). This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirement on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Corporation is soliciting comments concerning its Application Instructions for State Commissions. These applications are used by current and prospective grantees to apply for funds to support AmeriCorps States and Territories Competitive, Education Award Program, and Formula Grants. The Corporation for National and Community Service (hereinafter the ``Corporation'') is correcting a final rule that appeared in the Federal Register of July 8, 2005. The document amended several provisions relating to the AmeriCorps national service program, and added rules to clarify the Corporation's requirements for program sustainability, performance measures and evaluation, capacity-building activities by AmeriCorps members, qualifications for tutors, and other requirements.

Availability of Draft Strategic Plan and Request for Comment

The Corporation for National and Community Service (``Corporation'') announces the availability of its draft strategic plan for 2005-2010. The Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 (GPRA) requires Federal agencies to establish a strategic plan covering not less than a 5-year period, and to solicit the views and suggestions of those entities potentially affected by or interested in the plan. The Corporation is interested in receiving comments on its draft strategic plan. Comments may be provided in writing or expressed during scheduled conference calls.
