Prohibition of Children's Toys and Child Care Articles Containing Specified Phthalates; Correction
On October 27, 2017, the Commission issued a final rule prohibiting children's toys and child care articles that contain concentrations of more than 0.1 percent of certain phthalates. That document contained typographical and technical errors. This document corrects those errors.
Prohibition of Children's Toys and Child Care Articles Containing Specified Phthalates: Revision of Determinations Regarding Certain Plastics; Correction
On January 26, 2018, the Commission issued a direct final rule to revise the plastics determinations rule to cover certain phthalates that the phthalates final rule prohibits from use in children's toys and child care articles. That document contained typographical errors. This document corrects the typographical errors in the direct final rule.
Safety Standard for Automatic Residential Garage Door Operators
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission, or CPSC) is amending its regulation, Safety Standard for Automatic Residential Garage Door Operators, to reflect changes made by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL), in the entrapment protection provisions in UL's standard UL 325, Standard for Safety: Door, Drapery, Gate, Louver, and Window Operators and Systems, Seventh Edition.
Agency Information Collection Activities; Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request-Survey on Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms
As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announces that CPSC has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), a new proposed collection of information by the agency on a survey that will estimate the use of smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in United States households. In the Federal Register of March 20, 2018 (83 FR 12178), CPSC published a notice announcing the agency's intent to seek approval of this collection of information. CPSC received several comments in response to that notice. After review and consideration of the comments, by publication of this notice, the Commission announces that CPSC has submitted to the OMB a request for approval of this collection of information.
Safety Standard for Booster Seats
Pursuant to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is issuing this final rule establishing a safety standard for booster seats. The Commission is also amending its regulations regarding third party conformity assessment bodies to include the safety standard for booster seats in the list of notices of requirements (NORs).
