II. Description of the Amendment On November 14, 2024, the PCAOB adopted the Amendment.7 The Amendment was preceded by a proposal on February 27, 2024, ‘‘Proposals Regarding False and Misleading Statements Concerning PCAOB Registration and Oversight and Constructive Requests to Withdraw from Registration’’ (the ‘‘Proposing Release’’).8 The PCAOB’s process to develop the Amendment included consideration of the comments received on the Proposing Release.
