We are taking this action to allow all interested parties an additional opportunity to comment on the proposed listing of the species and the proposed critical habitat. These further investigations will allow the EPA to assess the nature and extent of public health and environmental risks associated with the site and to determine what CERCLA-financed remedial action(s), if any, may be appropriate. This rule adds one site to the General Superfund section of the NPL.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) intends to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the purchase of electricity generated by the proposed Jugfork Solar Project in Lee and Union Counties, Mississippi. The EIS will assess the potential environmental effects of constructing, operating, and maintaining the proposed 200- megawatt (MW) alternating current (AC) solar facility, along with a 20 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The proposed 200 MW AC solar panel facility would occupy approximately 1,000 acres of the approximately 1,700-acre Project Study Area. The project would also include the upgrade of 6.4 miles of the Tupelo to Union 161-kV transmission line. Public comments are invited concerning the scope of the EIS, alternatives being considered, and environmental issues that should be addressed as a part of this EIS. TVA is also requesting data, information, and analysis relevant to the proposed action from the public; affected federal, state, tribal, and local governments, agencies, and offices; the scientific community; industry; or any other interested party.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service is proposing to amend a regulation to establish timeframes for initial or monthly certification to VA of a Chapter 31 veteran's enrollment at a facility, which would include information regarding the veteran's rate of pursuit, dates of attendance, and the number of credit or training hours, and for reporting to VA when changes are made. This would allow for the timely processing of monthly subsistence allowance payments to participating veterans who depend on these funds. It would also help prevent undue hardship for veterans resulting from underpayments or overpayments caused by the delay in reporting changes in rate of pursuit, dates of attendance, or the number of credit or training hours.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee (CHPAC) will be held virtually and in-person on October 30-31, 2024 at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Headquarters located at 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20460. The CHPAC advises the EPA on science, regulations and other issues relating to children's environmental health.
