The distribution of MHBG funds, including funds allocated for technical assistance, must adhere to a statutory formula. The formula considers the population at risk, the cost of providing services, and other relevant factors. To comply with these requirements, technical assistance funds will be distributed to States and territories using this established formula. These awards have a project end date of September 30, 2025.

Vessels issued a commercial Federal fisheries permit for the summer flounder fishery may not land summer flounder in Massachusetts for the remainder of calendar year 2024, unless additional quota becomes available through a transfer from another state. Regulations governing the summer flounder fishery require publication of this notification to advise Massachusetts that the quota has been harvested, and to advise vessel permit holders and dealer permit holders that no Federal commercial quota is available for landing summer flounder in Massachusetts.
