They will also receive an overview of the Council’s groundfish priorities for 2025. Discuss other businesses, as necessary. Although non-emergency issues not contained on the agenda may come before this Council for discussion, those issues may not be the subject of formal action during this meeting. Council action will be restricted to those issues specifically listed in this notice and any issues arising after publication of this notice that require emergency action under section 305(c) of the MagnusonStevens Act, provided the public has been notified of the Council’s intent to take final action to address the emergency. The goal of the pre-assessment workshop is to promote dialogue and a common understanding between assessment teams and data providers of the best data and analytical and modeling approaches applicable to these assessments. Stock assessment teams will solicit advice from data stewards, stakeholders, and fishery managers knowledgeable about these species. No management actions will be decided by the workshop participants. The participants’ role will be development of recommendations for consideration by the stock assessment teams assigned to conduct these assessments. The assessment for this stock is tentatively scheduled for peer review during a Stock Assessment Review (STAR) panel on May 19–23, 2025. The Pacific Council and the Pacific Council’s Scientific and Statistical Committee are scheduled to consider this draft assessment for use in informing management decisions at their September 2025 meeting in Spokane, WA.
