Japan—Tomahawk Weapon System
The Government of Japan has
requested to buy two hundred (200)
Tomahawk Block IV All Up Rounds
(AURs) (RGM–109E); two hundred (200)
Tomahawk Block V AURs (RGM–109E);
and fourteen (14) Tactical Tomahawk
Weapon Control Systems (TTWCS).
Also included is support for the

$2.35 billion.
This proposed sale will support the
foreign policy goals and national
security objectives of the United States
(U.S.) by improving the security of a
major ally that is a force for political
stability and economic progress in the
Indo-Pacific region.
The proposed sale will improve
Japan’s capability to meet current and
future threats by providing a long range,
conventional surface-to-surface missile
with significant standoff range that can
neutralize growing threats. Japan will
have no difficulty absorbing these
articles into its armed forces.
The proposed sale of this equipment
and support will not alter the basic
military balance in the region.
The principal contractor will be
Raytheon, Tucson, AZ. There are no
known offset agreements proposed in
connection with this potential sale.
Implementation of this proposed sale
will not require the assignment of any
additional U.S. Government or
contractor representatives to Japan.
There will be no adverse impact on
U.S. defense readiness as a result of this
proposed sale.

Agenda: During the meeting, election
officials will join the EAC’s
Commissioners for in-depth panel
discussions on the 2024 elections.
Topics include election security,
contingency planning, and serving
voters. EAC Commissioners will also
vote on the appointment of a General
Counsel pursuant to section 204 of the
Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA)
(52 U.S.C. 20924).
The full agenda will be posted in
advance on the EAC website: https://
www.eac.gov.
Background: HAVA charged the EAC
to serve as a national clearinghouse and
resource for the compilation of
information and review of procedures
with respect to the administration of
federal elections. This meeting will
provide information on topics that arose
during the 2024 elections to help inform
stakeholders as well as the general
public and members of the media.
