The Board also received numerous filings from community members and associations of community members opposing the petition. The Board’s Office of Environmental Analysis (OEA) issued a Draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA) on January 5, 2024, examining the potential environmental and historic impacts of Townline’s project and requesting public comments, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), 42 U.S.C. 4321–4370m(11), and related environmental laws, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, 54 U.S.C. 306108. OEA concluded that, with the mitigation recommended in the Final EA, the project would have no or negligible adverse environmental impacts.
