Purpose: The Committee is charged
with providing advice and guidance to
the Director, Division of Healthcare
Quality Promotion (DHQP), the Director,
National Center for Emerging and
Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID),
the Director, CDC, and the Secretary,
Department of Health and Human
Services, regarding (1) the practice of
healthcare infection prevention and
control; (2) strategies for surveillance,
prevention, and control of infections,
antimicrobial resistance, and related
events in settings where healthcare is
provided; and (3) periodic updating of
CDC guidelines and other policy
statements regarding prevention of
healthcare-associated infections and
healthcare-related conditions.
Matters to be Considered: The agenda
will include the following updates: The
Healthcare Personnel Guideline
Workgroup; Isolation Precautions
Guideline Workgroup; Dental Unit
Waterlines Guideline Update; Division
of Health Quality Promotion Updates;
Review of Viral Hemorrhagic Fever
Update; Pathogen Reduction Guidance
Introduction; NHSN Update;
Recommendation Categorization
Framework Update. Agenda items are

Public Participation
Oral Public Comment: This meeting
will include time for members of the
public to make an oral comment.
Priority will be given to individuals
who submit a request to make an oral
public comment before the meeting
according to the procedures below. All
persons interested in making an oral
public comment at the August 22, 2024
HICPAC meeting must submit a request
between July 26, 2024, and August 12,
2024, at https://www.cdc.gov/hicpac/
meeting.html no later than 11:59 p.m.,
EDT, August 12, 2024, according to the
instructions provided on the HICPAC
website. If the number of persons
requesting to speak is greater than can
be reasonably accommodated during the
scheduled time, CDC will conduct a
lottery to determine the speakers for the
scheduled public comment session.
CDC staff will notify individuals
regarding their request to speak by email
by August 17, 2024.

AGENCY:
In accordance with the
Federal Advisory Committee Act, the
Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) announces the
following meeting of the Advisory
Committee on Breast Cancer in Young
Women (ACBCYW). This meeting is
open to the public, limited only by
conference room space and web
Conference lines (40 conference room
and 60 web conference participant
spaces available). Online registration is
required.
DATES: The meeting will be held on
September 13, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to
4 p.m., EDT.
ADDRESSES: 4770 Buford Highway,
Atlanta, Georgia 30341, Building 106,
Room 1B. All ACBCYW Meeting
participants must register for the
meeting online at least 5 business days
in advance at https://www.cdc.gov/
breast-cancer/php/advisory-committee/
index.html. Please complete all the
required fields and submit your
registration no later than September 6,
2024. Registered participants will
receive access instructions before the
meeting. All visitors are required to
present a valid form of picture
identification issued by a state, federal
or international government. As
required by the Federal Property
Management Regulations, all persons
entering in or on Federal controlled
property and their packages, briefcases,
and other containers in their immediate
possession are subject to being x-rayed
and inspected. Federal law prohibits the
knowing possession or the causing to be
present of firearms, explosives and other
dangerous weapons and illegal
substances. Time will be available for
public comment. The public is welcome

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Purpose: The Advisory Committee
provides advice and guidance to the
Secretary, HHS; the Assistant Secretary
for Health; and the Director, CDC,
regarding the formative research,
development, implementation, and
evaluation of evidence-based activities
designed to prevent breast cancer
(particularly among those at heightened
risk) and promote the early detection
and support of young women who
develop the disease. The advice
provided by the Advisory Committee
will assist in ensuring scientific quality,
timeliness, utility, and dissemination of
credible appropriate messages and
resource materials.
Matters to be Considered: The agenda
will include discussions on current
topics related to breast cancer in young
women. These will include Mental/
Behavioral Health, Sexual Health,
Genetics and Genomics, and Provider
Engagement. Agenda items are subject
to change as priorities dictate.
