The Proposed Agreement would resolve potential EPA claims under section 107(a) of CERCLA, against The Sherwin Williams Company, Western Extrusions Corp., IMO Industries, Inc., Micro Quality Semiconductor, Inc. (and its affiliates Microsemi Corporation and Microchip Technology Incorporated), Akzo Nobel Coatings Inc., and 7-Eleven Inc. (‘‘Settling Parties’’) for EPA response costs at the Chemical Recycling Inc., Superfund Site located in Wylie, Texas. The settlement requires Settling Parties to pay the EPA $650,000, plus an additional sum for Interest on that amount calculated beginning the 61st day after the Effective Date through the date of payment, for EPA response costs. For thirty (30) days following the date of publication of this notice, EPA will receive electronic comments relating to the Proposed Agreement.
