section, the FAA is charged with
prescribing regulations to assign the use
of airspace necessary to ensure the
safety of aircraft and the efficient use of
airspace. This regulation is within the
scope of that authority, as it would
amend Class D airspace in Fort Liberty,
NC. An airspace evaluation determined
that this update is necessary to support
IFR operations in the area.

airspace by excluding 1,400 feet MSL
from the vertical limits (previously
‘‘including’’), updating the airport’s
geographic coordinates, and replacing
‘‘Notice to Airmen’’ with ‘‘Notice to Air
Mission’’ in the description.
Controlled airspace is necessary for
the safety and management of
instrument flight rules (IFR) operations
in the area.
