These record-keeping requirements are not new and do not require reporting to the Secretary. The record keeping requirements outlined in this IC were created to reflect the requirements in Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 20 U.S.C. 1431–1443 and the final Part C regulations. These regulations require the 56 State lead agencies (LAs) that receive IDEA Part C funds to collect and maintain information or data and, in some cases, report information or data to other public agencies or to the public.
