Type of Request: Intent to seek approval to establish an information collection. Abstract: The National Science Foundation (NSF) on 8 February 2018, in Important Notice No. 144 (8 Feb 2018) to Presidents of Universities and Colleges and Heads of Other National Science Foundation Grantee Organizations, emphasized that the agency does not tolerate sexual harassment, or any kind of harassment, anywhere NSF-funded science and education are conducted. The memo elaborated that the NSF is committed to ‘‘. . . promoting safe, productive research and education environments . . . ,’’ including those outside the organization, such as at field sites or facilities. Two NSF-wide policy changes quickly followed the memo to make clear that the agency was committed to safe research and learning environments. The first was a new Term and Condition that required awardee organizations to notify the NSF of any findings/determinations of sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, or sexual assault regarding an NSF funded Principal Investigator (PI) or coPI, or of the placement of the PI or coPI on administrative leave, or the imposition of any administrative action relating to harassment or sexual assault finding or investigator. The second was a new requirement for all NSF supported conferences to have a policy or code-of-conduct that addresses sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, and sexual assault, and that includes clear and accessible means of reporting violations of the policy or code-ofconduct. Proposers were not, however, required to submit that policy or code- E:\FR\FM\13OCN1.SGM 13OCN1
