The Department of Agriculture has
submitted the following information
collection requirement(s) to OMB for
review and clearance under the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995,
Public Law 104–13. Comments are
requested regarding: whether the
collection of information is necessary
for the proper performance of the
functions of the agency, including
whether the information will have
practical utility; the accuracy of the
agency’s estimate of burden including
the validity of the methodology and
assumptions used; ways to enhance the
quality, utility and clarity of the
information to be collected; and ways to
minimize the burden of the collection of
information on those who are to
respond, including through the use of
appropriate automated, electronic,
mechanical, or other technological
collection techniques and other forms of
information technology.
Comments regarding this information
collection received by November 2,
2023 will be considered. Written
comments and recommendations for the
proposed information collection should
be submitted within 30 days of the
publication of this notice on the

Forest Service
Title: Disposal of Mineral Materials.
OMB Control Number: 0596–0081.
Summary of Collection: The Forest
Service (FS) is responsible for
overseeing the management of National
Forest System land. The Multiple-Use
Mining Act of 1955 (30 U.S.C. 601, 603,
611–615) gives the FS specific authority
to manage the disposal of mineral
materials mined from National Forest
land. FS uses form FS–2800–9,
‘‘Contract for the Sale of Mineral
Materials’’ to collect detailed
information on the planned mining and
disposal operations as well as a contract
for the sale of mineral materials.
Need and Use of the Information: The
collected information enables the Forest
Service to document planned
operations, to prescribe the terms and
conditions the agency deems necessary
to protect surface resources, and to
affect a binding contract agreement.
Forest Service employees will evaluate
the collected information to ensure that
entities applying to mine mineral
materials are financially accountable
and will conduct their activities in
accordance with the mineral regulations
of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations,
part 228, subpart C (36 CFR part 228).
If this information is not collected, the
Forest Service would be unable to
comply with Federal regulations to
mine mineral materials, and operations
could cause undue damage to surface
resources.

or other for-profit.

Summary of Collection: The Organic
Foods Production Act of 1990 (OFPA),
as amended (7 U.S.C. 6501—6524),
authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture
to establish the National Organic
Program (NOP) and accredit certifying
agents to certify that farms and
businesses meet national organic
standards. The purpose of OFPA is to:
(1) establish national standards
governing the marketing of certain
agricultural products as organically
produced products; (2) assure
