Eviction Counseling Survey.

Description of the need for the
information and proposed use: The
purpose of the survey is to collect
information from HUD Participating
Housing Counseling agencies that will
be used to identify and develop
innovative programming and best
practices for the Department’s Housing
Counselling Program under Section 106
of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974. The survey
will gather critical data about how HUD-
approved counseling agencies are
providing services to households at risk
of or facing eviction. HUD proposes to
use the information to improve support
to housing counseling agencies in
providing effective and innovative
counseling services for households
facing or at risk of eviction.

insurance is an important source of
mortgage credit for low and moderateincome borrowers. It is essential that the
Federal Housing Administration (FHA)
maintain a healthy mortgage insurance
fund through premiums charged to the
borrower by FHA. Providing policy and
guidance to the single family housing
mortgage industry regarding changes in
FHA’s program is essential to protect
the fund. This information collection is
based on the claim activity involving
FHA-insured mortgage loan servicing of
foreclosed mortgage loans after the
foreclosure sale. This is a revision to the
currently approved collection due to
program activity. With each form, the
Public Burden Statement is updated.
