During the evaluation, NOAA will consider whether the management and operation of the reserve is deficient and whether the research at the reserve is consistent with the research guidelines developed under section 315(c) of the CZMA. When the evaluation is complete, NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management will place a notice in the Federal Register announcing the availability of the final evaluation findings. ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: This action serves as a notice that NMFS, on behalf of the 
Secretary of Commerce (Secretary), has found that Pacific sardine is 
still overfished. NMFS, on behalf of the Secretary, is required to 
provide this notice whenever it determines that a stock or stock 
complex is subject to overfishing, overfished, or approaching an 
overfished condition.
