Section 824 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, Public Law 104–193 (PRWORA) establishes a time limit for the receipt of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for certain able-bodied adults who are not working.
