Permit; Pumped Hydro Storage LLC
Take notice that Pumped Hydro
Storage LLC, permittee for the proposed
Salt Trail Canyon Pumped Storage
Project, has requested that its
preliminary permit be terminated. The
permit was issued on May 21, 2020, and
would have expired on April 30, 2023.1
The project would have been located on
the Little Colorado River in Coconino
County, Arizona.
The preliminary permit for Project
No. 14992 will remain in effect until the
close of business, January 11, 2023. But,
if the Commission is closed on this day,
then the permit remains in effect until
the close of business on the next day in
which the Commission is open.2 New
applications for this site may not be
submitted until after the permit
surrender is effective.

located on the San Francisco River in
Greenlee County, Arizona and Catron
County, New Mexico, on land that is
part of the Apache-Sitgreaves National
Forest in Arizona and the Gila National
Forest in New Mexico.
The preliminary permit for Project
No. 14995 will remain in effect until the
close of business, January 11, 2023. But,
if the Commission is closed on this day,
then the permit remains in effect until
the close of business on the next day in
which the Commission is open.2 New

exemptee proposes to surrender its
exemption for the project. The power
purchasing agreement for the project
expired in 2013 and the exemptee has
been unable to enter into a new
agreement. Currently, the project is nonoperational and no water flows through
penstock. The exemptee proposes to
leave all project works secured in place
including the powerhouse and
generator.
