Abstract: A Centralized Examination Station (CES) is a privately operated facility where merchandise is made available to CBP officers for physical examination. If a port director decides that a CES is needed, he or she solicits applications to operate a CES. The information contained in the application is used to determine the suitability of the applicant’s facility; the PO 00000 Frm 00075 Fmt 4703 Sfmt 4703 65097 fairness of fee structure; and the knowledge of cargo handling operations and of CBP procedures and regulations.
