committee meeting.
AGENCY:
The National Towing Safety
Advisory Committee (Committee) will
meet to review and discuss matters
relating to shallow-draft inland
navigation, coastal waterway navigation,
and towing safety. The meeting will be
open to the public.
DATES: Meeting: The Committee will
meet on Wednesday, September 21,
2022, from 8 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Central
Daylight Time (CDT). Please note the
meeting may close early if the
Committee has completed its business.
Comments and supporting
documentation: To ensure your
comments are received by Committee
members before the meeting, submit
your written comments no later than
September 16, 2022.

the San Jacinto College Maritime
Technology and Training Center located

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Notice of
this meeting is in compliance with the
Federal Advisory Committee Act, (5,
U.S.C., Appendix). The National
Towing Safety Advisory Committee is
authorized by section 601 of the Frank
LoBiondo Coast Guard Authorization
Act of 2018, (Pub. L. 115–282, 132 Stat.
4190), and is codified in 46 U.S.C.
15108. The Committee operates under
the provisions of the Federal Advisory
Committee Act, (5 U.S.C. Appendix),
and 46 U.S.C. 15109. The National
Towing Safety Advisory Committee
provides advice and recommendations
to the Secretary of Homeland Security
through the Commandant of the U. S.
Coast Guard, on matters related to
shallow-draft inland navigation, coastal
waterway navigation, and towing safety.

The National Merchant
Marine Personnel Advisory Committee
(Committee) will conduct a series of
meetings over three days in Dania
Beach, FL to discuss issues relating to
personnel in the United States Merchant
Marine including the training,
qualifications, certification,
documentation, and fitness of mariners.
DATES:
Meetings: The National Merchant
Marine Personnel Advisory Committee
is scheduled to meet on Wednesday,
September 7, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until
4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT),
Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 9:00
a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (EDT), and Friday,
September 9, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until
3:00 p.m. (EDT). Committee meetings on
Wednesday, September 7, and
Thursday, September 8, will include
periods during which the Committee
will break into subcommittees. These
meetings may adjourn early if the
Committee has completed its business.
