SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
I. Purpose
In accordance with section 10(a) of
the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5
U.S.C. app., this notice announces a
meeting of the National Advisory
Council for Healthcare Research and
Quality (the Council). The Council is
authorized by Section 941 of the Public
Health Service Act, 42 U.S.C. 299c. In
accordance with its statutory mandate,
the Council is to advise the Secretary of
the Department of Health and Human
Services and the Director of AHRQ on
matters related to AHRQ’s conduct of its
mission including providing guidance
on (A) priorities for health care research,
(B) the field of health care research
including training needs and
information dissemination on health
care quality and (C) the role of the
Agency in light of private sector activity
and opportunities for public private
partnerships. The Council is composed
of members of the public, appointed by
the Secretary, and Federal ex-officio
members specified in the authorizing
legislation.

II. Agenda
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, the
Council meeting will convene at 10:00
a.m., with the call to order by the
Council Chair and approval of previous
Council summary notes. The meeting
will begin with an introduction of NAC
members, an update on AHRQ
activities, and a discussion about new
opportunities with AHRQ’s new
Director. The agenda will also include
discussions about AHRQ and the
Patient-Centered Outcomes Research
(PCOR) Trust Fund and AHRQ’s role in
conducting and supporting health
services research, analysis and
evaluations focused on understanding
the effects of healthcare financing
policies. The meeting will adjourn at
3:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the
public. For information regarding how

meeting details, including information
on how to make a public comment,

ACTION: Notice.
AGENCY:
On May 28, 2010, the Office
of Management and Budget (OMB)
issued Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA)
guidance related to the ‘‘generic’’
clearance process. Generally, this is an
expedited process by which agencies
may obtain OMB’s approval of
collection of information requests that
are ‘‘usually voluntary, low-burden, and
uncontroversial collections,’’ do not
raise any substantive or policy issues,
and do not require policy or
methodological review. The process
requires the submission of an
overarching plan that defines the scope
of the individual collections that would
fall under its umbrella. On October 23,
2011, OMB approved our initial request
to use the generic clearance process
under control number 0938–1148
(CMS–10398). It was last approved on
April 26, 2021, via the standard PRA
process which included the publication
of 60- and 30-day Federal Register
notices. The scope of the April 2021
umbrella accounts for Medicaid and
