Project Description
GPC proposes to abandon in-place
approximately 19.5 miles of 8-inchdiameter natural gas transmission
pipeline and auxiliary facilities in
Union Parish, Louisiana and Ashley
County, Arkansas. Additionally, GPC
proposes to abandon by removal all
aboveground features associated with
the 19.5 miles of pipeline.

Background
On February 1, 2022, the Commission
issued a Notice of Scoping Period
Requesting Comments on
Environmental Issues for the Proposed
GPC Pipeline Abandonment Project.
The Notice of Scoping was sent to
affected landowners; federal, state, and
local government agencies; elected
officials; environmental and public
interest groups; Native American tribes;
other interested parties; and local
libraries and newspapers. The Notice of
Scoping stated that the scoping period
would end on March 3, 2022. All
substantive comments received in
response to the Notice of Application
and Notice of Scoping will be addressed
in the EA.
Additional Information
In order to receive notification of the
issuance of the EA and to keep track of
formal issuances and submittals in
specific dockets, the Commission offers
a free service called eSubscription. This
service provides automatic notification
of filings made to subscribed dockets,
document summaries, and direct links
to the documents. Go to https://

licenses and other authorizations it

ensure that licensees have the capability
to carry out license requirements and,
particularly, to maintain their projects
in safe condition. The technical
conference will be held on Tuesday,
April 26, 2022, from approximately
11:30 to 4:15 p.m. Eastern time. The
conference will be held virtually.
The agenda for this event is attached.
The conference will be open for the
public to attend virtually, and there is
no fee for attendance. A second
supplemental notice will be issued prior
to the conference with the confirmed
panelists. Information on this technical
conference will also be posted on the
Calendar of Events on the Commission’s
website, www.ferc.gov, prior to the
event. Transcripts will be available for
a fee from Ace Reporting, (202) 347–
3700.
Individuals interested in participating
as panelists should self-nominate by
5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday,
